Descandants of George Fenner

James Lewis Fenner, Jr.

 

[b 27 June 1928 at Brooklyn, NY] Early on, James studied Music. He became the director of the Williamsburg Settlement Music School in Brooklyn, NY, after receiving a degree in music at Columbia University in 1949. He then returned to Columbia to get his masters in English in 1951, and he eventually got his doctorate in Education at New York University in 1972. James was always interested in many subjects and had a wide range of talents. He went to art school and became a painter, he had poetry published in several poetry magazines, he became a computer programmer, and he became actively involved in the stock market. The Fenner-Broughton Family History reads: “He enjoys researching genealogy, playing piano, meditating, walking a brisk five miles a day, and doing the cooking.” He m Osna Mina Goldstein [b 19 Sept. 1928 at Brooklyn, NY], daughter of Israel Goldstein and Sophie Jaffe, on 11 Feb. 1953. Osna was an elementary school teacher, and she and Jim “own and operate a mail-order antiques and collectibles business specializing in glass and pottery.” Jim Fenner provided most of the information regarding the descendants of his grandfather, James Elory Fenner.
