Duane Collins Fenner

[b 19 June 1937 at Bronson, MI; d 24 Nov. 2012 in Port Charlotte, FL] Duane graduated from Colon Community High School in the class of 1955, then he attended two years and two terms of Agricultural Engineering at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. He left college to assist his father, who had suffered a severe shoulder injury. Duane m Bessie Pesti [b 23 Nov. 1938] on 12 Sept. 1959 at Colon Methodist Church in Colon, MI. She was the daughter of Albert and Mary Baum and had graduated from Colon HS in the spring of 1959 along with Duane’s sister Shirley. Bessi was employed at the L.A. Darling Co. in Bronson, MI, at the M & R Dietetic Labs in Sturgis, MI, and in the EKG department of Medical Center Hospital in Punta Gorda, FL. They moved to Port Charlotte, FL, on 1 Oct. 1965. Duane was employed at the Charlotte Correctional Institution as a vocational instructor and water plant operator until his retirement in 2007. He and Bessie divorced in 1986.
