HOWARD FENNER. Editor: This is a note of thanks to you for your very kind gesture in recognition of Howard Fenner at his untimely passing. There were many among your readers who, I’m sure, were unfamiliar with Howard and his many significant contributions in the field of education here in Orange County. It was well that the community be made even more aware of the very unfortunate loss it has sustained. We in the teaching profession surely will miss his sincere dedication to our cause, especially those of us who will be struggling to fill the gaping hole his absence has created. Richard G. Sawtelle, President Orange County Classroom Teachers Association. —Orlando Sentinel, 11 Aug. 1966
